Katie Price hopes Dwight Yorke will reach out to Harvey after new documentary airs

Katie Price has revealed she hopes that her new documentary about son Harvey Price will encourage his father, Dwight Yorke, to get in touch with him.

Ex footballer Dwight, 49, has not been involved in Harvey’s life, but Katie, 42, is hoping the new documentary, Katie Price: Harvey and Me, will mean Dwight reaches out and introduces Harvey to his other son.

The former glamour model told The Sun: ‘His dad has never stuck up for him. It’s a weird one – I don’t know why and I don’t understand why he doesn’t want to be in touch.

‘I would love Dwight to watch the documentary and reach out to Harvey. I’ve always said the door is open for Dwight when he wants to get in touch.

‘At the end of the day Harvey has done nothing wrong, he’s innocent and deserves to know his dad and meet his half-brother.

‘Why should Harvey be deprived of that and why should Harvey’s brother not get the chance to meet Harvey? I wonder if he even knows Harvey is his brother?’

Dwight had a second child, Orlando, in 2007 but has largely remained out of the limelight in recent years.

Katie’s documentary will chart the changes in her and Harvey’s life as he turns 18 and decisions need to be made about his care and schooling.

Harvey was born with Prader-Willi syndrome and is partially blind as well as having autism and diabetes.

Katie has also revealed that she has decided to put Harvey into permanent care at a residential college where he will be able to learn new skills and live a more independent life with the right support.

Katie Price: Harvey and Me will air on BBC iPlayer from January 25 at 8.30pm.
