It’s unknown if LadBaby will compete for a sixth straight Christmas number one in 2023, but their annual food promotion has begun.
In recent years, the YouTuber and musician has focused in charity singles, raising thousands of pounds for the Trussell Trust and food banks around the UK.
Beginning in 2018, Mark Hoyle and his wife Roxanne have made the holiday season LadBaby season with multiple YouTube and television advertisements.
And it appears that they’re getting into the holiday mood early this year, having collaborated with pie producer Pukka to create the ideal Christmas dinner pie.
The pie is filled with chicken pieces, typical holiday sage and onion pork stuffing balls, chipolata sausages, and smoked bacon.
As is customary throughout LadBaby’s holiday promotions, proceeds from the Christmas meal pie will be given to the Trussell Trust.
Roxanne, a LadBaby Mum, expressed her pleasure about collaborating with the firm founded 60 years ago.
‘We’re absolutely buzzing to have joined forces with Pukka to cook up something special for the nation, supporting the incredible work of the Trussell Trust.’
Rachel Cranston of Pukka said: ‘We couldn’t be happier that our first ever Christmas Pie is brought to you by festive icons, LadBaby.’
She continued: ‘Mark and Roxanne got to know our bakery and worked with our chefs hands-on to cook up this recipe, and we can’t wait for everyone to try it.’
LadBaby initially gained widespread popularity in 2018 after their song of Starship’s We Built This City became the Christmas number one.
LadBaby has now broken the record for the most consecutive UK Christmas number ones, as well as the most Christmas number ones overall, with five.
Food Aid, a reworking of Do They Know It’s Christmas?, was their Christmas number one in 2022, but it fell 84 places to number 85 in the first week of January 2023.
Roxanne claimed in 2020 that she was motivated to utilise LadBaby to earn money for food banks after experiencing food insecurity in the past.
