Monica Geller may never have served a coffee in Central Perk in Friends, but Courteney Cox did just that when she surprised fans on set.
The 57-year-old returned to the Warner Bros. studio where fans can take a guided tour through the sets of their favourite films and TV shows.
And when a group of boffins strolled into Central Perk, the New York coffee spot where Monica, Rachel Green, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, Phoebe Buffay, and Ross Geller somehow always managed to get the same spot on the same sofa every day, they found Monica dishing out the coffees.
The actress paraded around various spots on the Friends set, but managed to keep her identity secret by wearing a mask, even giving a guest a visitor pass and allowing their car through the gate without being recognised.
Eventually, the face covering came off as she began working at the gift shop but even then one customer didn’t recognise her, even with Friends playing in the background.
She captioned stunt, which she shared on Instagram: ‘When I’m not acting… #inbetweenthescenes.’
It’s been a big year for the Friends cast as Courteney, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow all reunited for the first time on screen in over 17 years.
Understandably, Courteney was seen sobbing as they reflected on the sitcom which ran for a decade and became the most popular comedy of all time.
Courteney’s co-star Jennifer admitted the cast ‘had such blissful ignorance going into the reunion’.
‘We were thinking, “How much fun is this going to be, to go back to Stage 24 exactly the way it was, exactly the way we left it?”‘ said the actress.
‘But it was a sucker punch to the heart. It turns out that it’s not so easy to time travel.’
The Friends Reunion is available to stream on NOW TV. Friends is available to stream on Netflix UK and plays on loop on Comedy Central pretty much all day every day, and quite right too.
