After crashing face-first onto the ice during a practise for Dancing on Ice, performer Sylvain Longchambon was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The 42-year-old veteran skater skated with celebrity partner Mollie Gallagher on Sunday’s live event.
In spite of the fact that Sylvain had his chin sewn back together after he fractured it in a fall, he and Coronation Street star Mollie skated with confidence last night, earning a score of 28.5 for their performance.
ITV show producer Dan Whiston revealed the incident in an interview published on Monday: ‘We’ve had lots of falls this week, with pro-skater Sylvain rushed to hospital after hitting his chin on the ice during rehearsals.’
‘He had his chin glued and luckily was back on the ice with Mollie Gallagher who put on a solid performance,’ he added to The Sun.
A number of the skaters have had mishaps on the rink during this series, so this isn’t the first injury.

Siva Kaneswaran, lead vocalist of the band The Wanted, sustained a concussion after a major fall days before the event aired after judge Christopher Dean quipped that his fractured finger originated from trying the “Iron Lotus” posture from the skating comedy film Blades of Glory.
He subsequently explained that he felt the back of his head and assumed it was fractured, but the doctors told him he would be OK.
Similarly, comedian Darren Herriot had to have his forearm sewn back together after he sliced it open on his writing partner Tippy Packard’s razor.
On Sunday, Mollie and Sylvain skated to She Used to Be Mine from the Broadway smash Waitress, itself based on the Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion independent film of the same name.
Their score put them in fourth place, behind Joey Essex and Vanessa Bauer, The Vivienne and Colin Grafton, and gymnasts Nile Wilson and Olivia Smart, whose upbeat routine to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang earned them a score of 33.5 and won the night.

Michelle Heaton, a member of Liberty X, and her dance partner, Lukasz Rozycki, were eliminated from the competition when their performance of a Chicago routine to All That Jazz fell flat.
Skating-off was scheduled for this week’s programme but was cancelled at the last minute, sending Michelle home and saving EastEnders’ Patsy Palmer, who had landed in the bottom two after a skate mishap.
Dancing On Ice continues at 6:25pm on Sunday on ITV1.
