Davina McCall, who formerly hosted the show Big Brother, has revealed the three alumnae of the reality competition with whom she maintains contact.
The reality show, which began airing on Channel 4 in the year 2000 and moved to Channel 5 in 2010, was hosted by the 55-year-old man for its entire run.
Davina has been reflecting on her decade-long run as the show’s host in anticipation of the program’s return to ITV2 later this year.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Davina spoke out about the three housemates she is still in touch with after all this time – including somebody from the very first season and two former winners.
She said: ‘I’m still in touch with people like Anna Nolan from series one and Cameron Stout, who was the winner of series four. I saw Josie Gibson the other day and she’s just brilliant.’
Long Lost Family host Davina also said that Alison Hammond – who was the second housemate evicted from Big Brother’s third series – is ‘a flippin’ superstar,’ adding: ‘I’m so happy for her.’
However, things took a sad turn when Davina reflected on her all-time favourite contestants, naming Jade Goody and Nikki Grahame – who have both died since starring on the show in 2002 and 2006 respectively.
She said: ‘Both were brilliant, funny characters, although I did worry that sometimes people weren’t always laughing with Jade but sometimes at her, and that upset me.
‘They were both amazing and it still shocks me and saddens me that we’ve lost them.’
Davina recently admitted that she would like to see veteran presenters Ant and Dec join her, Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross on the panel of The Masked Singer, which returned to screens at the weekend.
When asked about her ideal co-judge, she told OK!: ‘It’s got to be someone who gets the madness of it.
‘We had Stephen Mulhern on the new series and he was joyous, because he just kept going, “what is going on? This is the weirdest programme I have ever worked on!”’
‘I think Ant and Dec would find it hilarious, so they would be great.’
Football pundit Chris Kamara became the first celebrity to be unmasked on the new series of ITV1’s reality singing contest and was underneath the Ghost costume.
Taking to the stage, Chis performed Save the Last Dance for Me by The Drifters and managed to throw the panel off scent over his identity by putting on a Scottish accent.
As a result, they were convinced that the likes of Love Island presenter Iain Stirling or Dr Alex George was under the mask.
