The eight-parter, which was adapted by Joe Cornish from books written by Jonathan Stroud with the same name and published under the same title, follows Lucy as she and fellow agents Lockwood (Cameron Chapman) and George (Ali Hadji-Heshmati) eliminate spirits.
They do their business in a version of London that has been afflicted by The Problem, which is essentially a phenomenon in which the dead refuse to die and chase out ordinary people in order to inflict either a lethal or debilitating “ghost touch” on them.
However, things go from bad to worse for the three protagonists once they agree to carry out a task that is both difficult and intended to end in their deaths. The plot of the drama centres on the unravelling of the mystery and mayhem that ensues.
At the time this article was written, Lockwood & Co. was the most popular television series available to stream on Netflix in the United Kingdom. The creepy thriller has been very well received by viewers.
The Bridgerton actor, who is 22 years old, discussed her audition experience in a Behind the Scenes video for the show. The procedure didn’t quite go according to plan, as executive producer Nira Park said that the actress’s “wifi failed totally.”
The Rocks actor explains: ‘I did a Zoom audition and a self-tape. And I had such a bad internet connection I kept cutting out and Joe was like, “Ok We’ve done it.”‘
The star cringes as she remembers that there was actually one scene left, believing that her dodgy connection may have impacted her chances on the gig.
However, the opposite was true, with Joe saying that Ruby was one of the first actors cast and was convinced she was the perfect fit for Lucy from the offset.

Lockwood & Co. served as Cameron’s very first audition for a role in the acting industry after he had graduated from theatre school.
After a long search for Lockwood, Joe admits that he was “relieved” to discover Cameron after they had been looking for him for a while. He calls the encounter “surreal.”
In the eight-minute movie, it is seen that the actors underwent two months of rigorous training in order to prepare for the production of the series. Additionally, they were put through their paces.

After many weeks of sword combat practise and HIIT workouts, Ruby jokingly claims that the actors “became ripped.”
Hayley Konadu, who plays the role of relic hunter Flo Bones, adds that the runaway sequence that takes place after the black market auction was genuinely recorded on the River Thames, despite the fact that many of the actions were done using green screens.
‘I can’t lie,’ she says. ‘I’ve loved every single second of it. The locations we filmed on the bank of the Thames and also Flo, she drives a boat and it was nice to really film that and not do a green screen of that.’

Another hidden fact that was brought to light by the documentary was the fact that Lockwood’s home and agency headquarters, a townhouse located on Portland Row in London, was really a set that was constructed in Ealing Studios.
Ali says: ‘When you go in you don’t realise you’re in a set – it’s just like a real house, which is what it’s supposed to be.’
Critics have expressed high appreciation for Lockwood & Company, even though a decision about whether or not it will be renewed for a second season has not yet been made.
Lockwood & Co is available to stream on Netflix.
