Nigella Lawson is said to have quit the Australian cookery show My Kitchen Rules after only one season.
The television chef is not expected to return to her Australian kitchen when the show’s new season premieres on Channel 7 later this year.
According to the Herald Sun, Nigella has departed the show after only one season of co-hosting.
The cooking competition, which debuted in 2010, is judged by Manu Feildel and Matt Preston, with Nigella taking over for Pete Evans, who left after series 11.
Nigella had been by Manu’s side from the beginning of the series, moving aside for Matt when he took over for the final episodes.
Guest judges were Gary Mehigan and Colin Fassnidge.
According to the newspaper, Colin and Manu will surely return for the upcoming season, while it has yet to be determined who will replace Nigella.
This comes after she lashed out at ‘mean’ cookery programmes, branding them ‘a theatre of cruelty and humiliation’.
Nigella barred herself from ever starring in a culinary programme that does not prioritise respect among its participants and crew before My Kitchen Rules aired last summer.
‘I don’t like it at all,’ the 62-year-old told Australian Woman’s Weekly of the controversial culinary series. It seems unproductive to me.
‘It makes individuals at home feel constrained about cooking as well, since they have this persecuting voice in their brains. I couldn’t be a member of such a scheme.
‘I’m not saying you’re not honest, but there’s never a need to be harsh.’
