Susanna Reid declares Megan Fox’s engagement ring a ‘red flag’ after Machine Gun Kelly reveals it will ‘hurt to take off’

Susanna Reid has summed up many people’s feelings, declaring the engagement ring Machine Gun Kelly gave Megan Fox a ‘red flag’.

The rapper baffled fans as he revealed that the ring is apparently designed with thorns, with him saying it will ‘hurt to take off’.

After Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold spoke about the unusual decision, Susanna, 51, weighed in, declaring: ‘Red flag!’

‘Sorry, surely he’s joking?’ she asked. ‘You make an engagement ring that’s going to hurt to take off?!’

Leaving Susanna completely stunned, Richard, 52, added: ‘They set the bar quite high anyway when they said they drank each other’s blood – again don’t try that at home – so barbed jewellery kind of rubs along’.

The rapper, 31, proposed to the actress, 35, after a year and a half together, with the pair declaring that they ‘drank each other’s blood’ during the romantic moment.

MGK later shared a video of the ring, revealing it featured a diamond and an emerald to form a heart.

‘The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings,’ he explained to Vogue.

‘When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…’

He went on to add: ‘Love is pain!’

Evidently…

Megan shared the news that she and MGK – real name Colson Baker – were engaged in an Instagram post, penning: ‘In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic.

‘We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time.

‘Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.

‘Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him.

‘And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes…and then we drank each other’s blood.’

Megan and MGK met while filming Midnight in the Switchgrass in March 2020.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
