A Canadian TV journalist was unable to finish her broadcast because she appeared to faint live on air.
Jessica Robb, a CTV Edmonton reporter, was on the air with anchor Nahreman Issa on Sunday night when she became unable to speak.
During the live cross, Jessica began having difficulty speaking, tripping over her words and apologising before appearing to lose her balance.
‘Sorry, Nahreman, I’m, I’m, I’m not feeling very well right now, and I’m about to just…’ she said.
Nahreman informed those watching at home that Jessica was not alone on the work and promised to provide an update on her progress later in the show.
The news show later tweeted that Jessica was ‘better and is currently sleeping,’ thanking fans for their inquiries.
The next day Jessica posted a statement of her own to social media, writing that: ‘On Sunday night, a very personal and vulnerable moment unfolded as I reported live on air.
‘Since then, it has been shared thousands of times, along with baseless theories about the cause.
‘To everyone who has reached out with supportive messages of well wishes and concern, thank you.
‘It has been overwhelming, and while I can’t get to all the messages, please know I’ve seen them and appreciate every single one.’
However, she also added that she had been inundated with ‘an overwhelming amount of harassment and hatred’, which she said had been ‘tied to false theories’ about the reason for her becoming unwell so quickly.
Since the video of her has been shared, many people online have claimed it was a result of being vaccinated.
‘While I will not share private medical information publicly, I can say that there is no cause for concern and that my understanding of my own medical background provides a reasonable explanation for what happened,’ she said.
‘I can, however, confirm that the situation was in no way related to the COVID-19 vaccine.’
