Sam Quek has confirmed she has given birth to her second child, one year after having her first.
The A Question Of Sport star, 33, took to Instagram to share a black and white photo of her hand alongside those of her husband Tom Mairs, 36, and their daughter Molly, one, as well as the new addition.
The former Olympic field hockey player wrote alongside it: ‘We were 3… but now we’re 4,’ adding the date of her baby being born on March 11.
Sam had carried on presenting right up until a day before she gave birth, having appeared BBC Morning Live.
She is yet to reveal the name or gender of their new arrival, who was born just two weeks after the family celebrated Molly’s first birthday.
The athlete revealed that she was pregnant in October, just seven months after Molly was born.
She told OK! Magazine at the time: ‘It’s come along quite quickly, so we were pleasantly surprised!
‘It was a surprise but we didn’t stop it happening, if that makes sense. We did discuss after Molly that we’d like kids close together and what close together meant.
‘My close together was 18 months and I wanted to start trying after Christmas. But Tom’s close together was to start trying after my six-week check.’
Sam had admitted to being constantly worried throughout her pregnancy as she had suffered a devastating miscarriage before falling pregnant with Molly.
She and Tom first started dating in 2013 after meeting at a bar in Liverpool, and tied the knot at Chester Racecourse five years later.Credit: Source
