She even revealed the cute nickname she has for him (Picture: Instagram)

Amanda Holden shared a romantic message for her husband Chris Hughes to celebrate his birthday.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 50, took to Instagram to gush over her partner of 20 years, even revealing the nickname she has for him.

Taking to her Instagram story, she shared a major throwback snap of Chris from his school days, writing: ‘Happy birthday to my best friend and husband Chrispy,’ before sharing a more recent shot for her ‘gorgeous boy.’

Taking to her main feed, the Heart FM presenter shared an idyllic snap from a holiday, taken on a boat.

She captioned her post: ‘It’s my boys birthday today. LOVE YOU DARLING’

The comments section was flooded with birthday messages from famous friends, including Heart Breakfast co-host Ashley Roberts, who wrote: ‘Happy Bday Chrispie!!!’

Keith Lemon commented: ‘Appy birfday Christmas!’ which we’re pretty certain you just read in his accent as well.

Other well-wishes came from Amanda’s 1.8 million followers, who praised the ‘gorgeous couple,’ but with some also feeling rather jealous of ‘lucky man’ Chris.

Amanda and Chris first met in Los Angeles in 2003 and started dating the following year, before marrying in December 2008.

They tied the knot at St Margaret’s Church in Somerset, and held a reception afterwards at Babington House.

Amanda shares two daughters with music producer Chris, Alexa Louise Florence Hughes, 15, and nine-year-old Hollie Rose Hughes.

The couple live in Richmond-upon-Thames in a Surrey home.

Despite Amanda being in the public eye, her husband is rarely seen, and she previously revealed he puts her on ‘the naughty step’ for sharing personal details about their love life.

She said in 2016: ‘Much to my poor husband’s dismay, I confess everything to some newspaper or other every week by accident or on Twitter, because I am chatty.

‘I have no more secrets because of social media and life in general.’

She added: ‘I wear my heart on my sleeve and most people know everything about me. Obviously, there are things that are still personal that I wouldn’t broadcast but mostly this is it.’

When asked if she regretted anything she had said in the past, the musical theatre star exclaimed: ‘Oh god! All the time! Every week! Every week when I sit on the naughty step because Chris puts me there.’

Amanda is now enjoying her Christmas break – which will surely involve some quality family time – after finishing up at Heart Radio for the year, where she celebrated her final show in style by dressing as an elf and kissing Pussycat Doll Ashley under the mistletoe.
