Curtis Pritchard has shared his thoughts on ex Maura Higgins’ relationship with Chris Taylor, admitting he felt ‘betrayed’ as he was close to both of them.
The Love Island star, 24, spoke out after his ex Maura and Chris went public with their relationship last week, admitting it hurt to see them together.
He told The Sun: ‘I feel betrayed by them both — two people I was very close to.
‘When I saw the pictures, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel hurt. I was upset. How long has this truly been going on for?
‘At the time I was accused of cheating, but I never did. I was always faithful to Maura.’
He claims there were ‘signs’ that Chris and Maura may become more than friends, adding: ‘Now her true colours are shown. They said they would never ever be together, and here they are.’
Curtis and Maura, 30, had begun dating after meeting on Love Island last year, but their relationship fizzled out after rumours he was getting close to a fellow dancer – something Curtis denied.
Although Maura and Chris had initially briefly coupled up on the show before she got with Curtis, he had ended up dating Harley Brash for a short while.
Maura and Chris maintained their friendship since meeting on the show, before revealing that they had got together romantically, going public on Instagram last week.
Sharing photos of them almost kissing on a trip to Dubai for Maura’s 30th birthday, Chris said he ‘fell in love with my best mate’.
Despite being upset to see their romance, Curtis says he would wish them the best if he were to bump into them.
He added: ‘If I bump into them, I’ll just say congratulations and I hope it really does turn out to be “the one”.’
