Davina McCall had a perfectly sassy response to a troll who complained she was too old to wear a stunning dress.
The TV presenter wore a beautiful polka dot gown on The Masked Singer this weekend, featuring spaghetti straps and a side split.
While the majority of Davina’s followers heaped praise and compliments on her fabulous look, it wasn’t enough to impress one troll who sent a nasty message to the presenter.
‘Old over sun-kissed woman should cover up … stunning dress but not for the wrinkly crinkly… demure for the mature,’ the troll wrote.
Davina, 53, took it on the chin and clapped back: ‘Really sorry . Absolutely no chance of demure over here sue… growing old disgracefully is far more fun,’ alongside cry laughing emoji.
Fans rushed to defend her with one responding: ‘Not a bloody wrinkle on her! Looks better than I do and im 20+ years younger. If you got it flaunt it comes to mind. What’s wrong with some people and their unnecessary opinions.’
Applauding Davina for taking the high road, another fan said: ‘Spoken like a true professional and wonderful human. You look amazing, as always! I continue to be inspired by your sparkly eyes, zest for life, and positive attitude. Go Davina!’
‘Oh my gosh what a nasty comment! Davina looks stunning! If I looked like this there is no way I’d want to be demure! My mam taught me if you don’t have anything nice to say then keep it to yourself! X,’ one added.
Another supporter weighed in: ‘Rude and unnecessary tweet but seeing your previous thumbs up tweet for trump it now makes sense. Vile people cheer for vile people. Davina is beautiful inside and out. Jealous much?’
The TV star, who is a judge on The Masked Singer, was in good spirits when she first shared the photo and praised her styling team for making her feel like a million dollars.
‘My dress is by @retrofete special thank you to everyone that magics me into looking like this @abigailrosewhite c/o @angiesmithstyle make-up by @cherylphelpsgardiner and hair by @mdlondon ❤️ Thank you all for making me feel like a princess for the night,’ she said.
It comes after Davina revealed that she is no longer working out to ‘look good in a bikini’ but instead to focus on her health.
The Masked Singer continues Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
