Kate Garraway sent a plea for help after her TV and wifi service suddenly stopped working and admitted it feels like her ‘final straw’.
The Good Morning Britain presenter is currently in self-isolation with her children, Darcey and Billy, as they hope to see their husband and father Derek Draper in hospital over the Christmas period.
Derek, 53, has been in hospital since March battling a severe case of coronavirus but his family’s hopes of visiting him are in limbo due to London being plunged into tier four.
Reaching the end of her tether, Kate, 53, tweeted Sky TV to complain about their service after trying to reach them for three days due to her TV and wifi experiencing technical difficulties.
She wrote: ‘Hi@skytv- I really hate to do this but can’t get through to anyone on phone for last 3 days- am sure you are frantic – but please can someone get in touch . We have no tv or WiFi for kids & me not having that in isolation over Xmas feels like final straw.’
Sky promptly replied: ‘Hi @kategarraway can you message us and we will try to help?’
Over the weekend, Kate expressed her fears that her plans to see Derek over the festive week had been ruined after Boris Johnson introduced tighter restrictions for London and several other areas.
Responding to a concerned fan, the TV star replied: ‘I hope so too Fatimah – not quite clear at the moment but thank you for thinking of me and the others in the same situation xxx.’
Kate briefly returned to GMB last week after a two-week break and revealed she had to isolate after her children came into contact with another child who then tested positive for coronavirus.
The unfortunate situation added to her stress of having to decide how to navigate seeing Derek in hospital.
Derek, a former political lobbyist, has been in hospital for nine months making him the longest case of Covid-19 in the UK. He is now free of the virus but is in a state of minimal consciousness.
Kate explained: ‘I’m finding it really challenging, I know it’s the slightly unique position I’m in but it’s also not…
‘Obviously my dream is for the children and I to see Derek on Christmas Day in some way. The practical challenges with that is we have to keep really safe in order to be able to visit him and isolate. Also, it’s a question of if we are doing that, can we have my mum and dad there?
‘I want to try and avoid, if at all possible, just Darcey, Billy and I on Christmas Day because I think that would make Derek’s absence feel huge and the rest of the family’s absence feel huge. It’s quite a difficult balance to work it all out.’
The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here star recently revealed that her husband of 15 years briefly opened his eyes in a breakthrough moment.
