Laura Whitmore Announces She’s Expecting Her First Child With Iain Stirling

Laura Whitmore is expecting her first child with Iain Stirling.

A day after the news that the Irish star had married Scottish comedian Iain, the 35-year-old confirmed she is pregnant.

The Love Island host wrote on Instagram: ‘So I’ve always tried to be protective over the personal side of my life. A lot of things are just for me and my loved ones and we’ve chosen not to share publicly. However I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share – and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control. Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021.

‘It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet. Especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning. I wasn’t hungover like everyone thought. In fact I was completely sober filming the entire series of Celeb Juice, which is quite the accolade!

‘We’d appreciate our privacy respected but just wanted to spread some love and a reminder of the beauty of life.’

Laura posted a picture of a Guns N’ Roses babygro, reading ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ and with the statement: ‘Coming 2021.’

Scarlett Moffatt was among the first to congratulate the couple, commenting: ‘Congratulations to you both honestly you will make the most wonderful parents.’

While Laura went for the emotional approach in confirming the happy news, Iain, 32, opted for a funnier tactic.

He shared a picture of his PlayStation which had been fixed with a note reading: ‘I will miss you xxx’ and his XBox and wrote: ‘Sorry to my old babies but there is a new baby coming early 2021.’

While the couple jointly revealed their baby news, neither Laura nor Iain has commented on the reports that they have tied the knot.

As per their marriage certificate obtained by The Sun, the Love Island stars got married at Dublin’s City Hall on November 11, with their siblings acting as witnesses.

They reportedly got married in front of 25 guests, the maximum allowed by Ireland’s Covid-19 rules at the time, in an intimate Humanist ceremony.

Before her pregnancy post, Laura tweeted: ‘Little thought of the day… If and when I ever have personal news I want to share, I will be the one to share it.’

Laura and Iain began dating in the summer of 2017 after meeting through mutual friends, and had their first date at a comedy show, followed by a trip to the pub.

In late 2018, the couple moved in together in a house in north London, and in January, Laura joined her man on Love Island, as she stepped in for Caroline Flack, who died in February, for the winter series.

Iain has been the narrator of the dating show since it returned in 2015.
