Liam Payne’s son Bear ‘reignited’ his love for ‘hollow’ Christmas: ‘I understand it all again’

Liam Payne lifted the lid on his Christmas traditions, revealing son Bear ‘reignited’ his love for the holidays.

The Strip That Down singer – who shares the three-year-old with ex-girlfriend Cheryl – will be spending the festivities with fiancée Maya Henry.

In a candid chat about what he has planned for the big day, the 27-year-old explained that it was the little one who reminded him of what this time of year is all about.

‘For me, it really reignited Christmas. I moved away from home at 17, so Christmas kind of took on a new meaning,’ he said. ‘It was great to be able to shower people with gifts and make everybody feel welcome, but Christmas always felt a little bit hollow for some reason.

‘Now he’s kind of filled that hole for me and I understand it all over again.’

While Bear might still be quite young, Liam insisted that he’s a huge fan of Christmas – and loves settling down in front of Home Alone.

Us too, Bear. Us too.

‘He completely gets it now! He’s been watching Home Alone and “Merry Christmas, you filthy animal” was one of his first phrases,’ he added to People magazine. ‘I think it is absolutely hilarious. I wouldn’t have it any other way.’

The toddler proved just how much he loves the festive classic as he excitedly shared a sweet Christmas message with fans.

Liam and Cheryl welcomed Bear in 2017, and have kept him largely out of the spotlight ever since, only sharing tiny glimpses at their son on social media.

But he got in on the Instagram action in the cutest way possible, and Macaulay Culkin would be totally proud.

‘Merry Christmas you filthy animals,’ he said in a video shared on the Girls Aloud star’s page.

‘And a happy New Year!’

Seriously adorable.
