Jesse Tyler Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita are set to welcome their second child together.
The Modern Family star confirmed their happy news on Instagram, in a heartfelt video.
‘There’s a lot of really horrible stuff happening in the country right now that Justin and I wanted to share a little bit of good news with you,’ he began the clip.
‘We are expanding our family, Beckett is going to be a sibling this fall!
‘In honor of our growing nest, we are very excited to partner up with Mili Mili, we’ve created a limited edition of products with them – crib sheets and sleep sacks. All of the proceeds from those products go to our LGBTQ organization, Pronoun.
‘But in response to what is happening in the world today and right now, we wanted to start off by making a $25,000 donation to the NAF hotline, a $25,000 donation to the ACLU and a $25,000 donation to Everytown Gun Safety.
‘We are very excited to have a little one on the way, but we are also so proud to support that choice to do it.’
Alongside the video, Jesse shared a lengthy caption with followers, in which he referenced the tragic Texas shooting of earlier this week, as well as the discussion to overturn Roe vs Wade and attacks on the trans community.
‘@justinmikita and I have some exciting news, we’re expecting number 2! Our growing family will be a family of four later this fall! We are so excited for Beckett to have a sibling,’ he wrote.
‘Like the majority of people in this country right now, we are heartbroken at the attacks all over the country — from senseless gun violence to state by state attacks on our transgender family and an onslaught of attacks on women’s reproductive health.
‘We are so excited to have a little one joining our growing family — and so proud to support the choice to do it.
‘A special thanks to @drshahinghadir & @scrcivf who has provided us the possibility to expand our family not once, but twice. We wouldn’t be here without you!’
Jesse, who is best known for playing Mitchell Pritchett on the beloved sitcom, opposite Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara, announced his engagement to Justin in 2012, after nearly two years of dating.
They tied the knot the following year, and welcomed their first child together, son Beckett, in 2020.
The actor, who is currently starring on Broadway in Take Me Out, famously accidentally let slip that he was going to be a dad for the first time an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
He had initially wanted it to be kept a secret but went completely off script during a chat about turning 40, and blurted their baby news out.
‘This is something that I actually haven’t mentioned if we could just keep it between the three of us, and you all, but I’m actually expecting a baby in July with my husband.’
Jesse and Justin have not shared a due date for their new bundle of joy.
