Ulrika Jonsson has called Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston’s ‘perfect’ bodies ‘toxic’, claiming pictures of the stars can cause damage to women’s confidence.

This week, JLo stunned fans as she posed naked for the artwork for her new single In The Morning.

In a shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the 51-year-old showed off her abs and strong legs, and people couldn’t quite believe her ripped body.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston, also 51, showed off her toned physique in leggings and a crop top in an ad for Vital Proteins.

While many have praised the two Jens for their bodies in their 50s, Ulrika, 53, argued that their physiques shouldn’t become the ‘new normal’.

The former Gladiators host said that seeing JLo’s naked picture ‘elevated’ her feelings of ‘insignificance’, and said: ‘It was like someone took a giant needle and pricked what remaining, marginally inflated self-confidence I may have scraped from the floor in my 54th year.’

Writing for The Sun, Ulrika said that while she is aware that celebrities have access to trainers, dieticians, personal chefs and make-up artists, and often Photoshop their images, she believes that ‘this peddling of perfection is… doing some very real damage’.

The TV star said that if she is so hurt by the images, she is concerned about the effect on other women, particularly those in the ‘older’ and ‘ordinary’ group.

She wrote: ‘To know that you’re juggling all of life’s plates and then, even after dolling yourself up with your best clothes and make-up, you still feel insufficient — you’re still not looking “good enough”. I can’t tell you how painful it is.’

Ulrika even worries that her appearance has los her work because she doesn’t look ‘spectacular’, and wrote: ‘Creating unrealistic expectations does so much damage and this slavery to perfection really needs to end.’

The mum-of-four, ended her piece saying other things in her life take priority over her appearance.

Ulrika has previously spoken about feeling self-conscious about her body and looks, after she and her former husband Brian Monet stopped having sex.

The couple only had sex once in eight years and Ulrika feared she would never have sex again after turning 50.

She told ‘It had a really detrimental effect on me. I started disliking myself, my body; I felt repulsive and started shutting myself off physically and psychologically.’

Ulrika and Brian – her third husband – split in 2019, and the presenter went on to share that she had had sex for the first time in five years after getting back on the dating scene.
