Who is Katie Price’s son Harvey’s dad?

Katie Price is hoping her son can get to know his dad after tonight’s emotional documentary Harvey and Me.

The former glamour model has been open about how retired footballer Dwight Yorke hasn’t been involved in their 18-year-old son’s life thus far.

Harvey – who suffers with a number of health conditions including blindness, ADHA and Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder which affects his development – will be the focus of an emotional BBC One programme this evening which covers him leaving school and finding a college.

Katie recently made the heartbreaking decision to send her son Harvey into a residential college, where he will live until he is 25.

She said: ‘It’s so upsetting to think I won’t see him every day but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively because I don’t want him to think I’m just getting rid of him.

‘This is his chance to live an independent life, learn skills and socialise with people other than me.’

Harvey Price’s biological father is former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke.

Katie had her 18-year-old son in 2002 after an 18-month relationship with the retired sportsman, 49, but he hasn’t been involved in his life, and Yorke initially denied he was Harvey’s father and demanded a paternity test.

Although Dwight has another son, born in 2007, Harvey has never met his half-brother.

Katie recently said: ‘I’ve always said the door is open for Dwight when he wants to get in touch. At the end of the day Harvey has done nothing wrong, he’s innocent and deserves to know his dad and meet his half-brother.’

Katie has been very vocal about wanting Dwight to get in touch with Harvey, and she recently said she hopes the documentary can convince him to reach out.

She said: ‘His dad has never stuck up for him. It’s a weird one – I don’t know why and I don’t understand why he doesn’t want to be in touch. I would love Dwight to watch the documentary and reach out to Harvey.’

She has said the ‘door is open’, and in July she blasted her ex for not contacting her when Harvey was fighting for his life in the intensive care unit after having trouble breathing.

She insisted: ‘Whether you want to be in your son’s life or not, you still created him and he’s still your son.

‘If you know your son is in intensive care and there’s a chance he could die, as a human being with feelings you should get in contact.’

Katie Price: Harvey and Me airs on BBC iPlayer from January 25 at 8.30pm.
