YouTube star Nicole Thea’s husband has spoken out for the first time since her death while eight months pregnant.

Thea, 24, died in July 2020 and while medics delivered her baby son, who the couple had named Reign, he died shortly after. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Speaking to the BBC, Boga – born Jeffery Frimpong – spoke about how he has tried to cope after the death of his ‘guardian angel’.

He revealed that at his lowest moment he ‘didn’t think I was going to make it’.

Asked how his life had been impacted he said: ‘Imagine your whole life, you’ve built the longest building ever, and it’s not like the building got crashed, the building got buried down.

‘How should I bring the building back up? That’s the only thing I can say, do you know what I’m saying? Because I didn’t think I was gonna make it.

‘In my brain I had the discussions with the man up there, because what else have I got?’

Boga, a member of the dance and rap group Ghana Boys, wants people to remember Thea by her ‘love’, adding: ‘Look at the way she loved me.

‘My world has been taken away.’

Boga and Thea often appeared in each other’s social media posts, with the couple sharing clips of them dancing together.

He also provided vocals for the internet star’s theme song Nico Nico.

Together they gave regular updates on their pregnancy journey, showing fans clothes they had chosen for Reign.

Boga organised a memorial in July on what would have been her 25th birthday. Mourners, dressed in white T-shirts, released white balloons into the air.
