My Celebrity Life

Your Horoscope This Week: May 23, 2021

The last week in May is the first full week of Gemini season and, as such, it’s only right that it gets a little chaotic. Jupiter’s ingress in Pisces set a lovely hue to our dream endeavours last week, but this week’s square to the full moon might have Jupiter enthusiasts singing a different tune. While there’s no need to jump to worst case scenarios, it’s worth staying wary of Jupiter’s more negative qualities in and around us: a tendency to bite off more than we can chew, a sense of entitlement to other people’s time and presence.

The lunar eclipse in Sagittarius midweek might have us wondering why we’ve spent so much time getting in our own way and how we plan on taking what we’ve learned into wider, more open spaces. Of course, with Saturn squaring Uranus, what we want to act on and what we get to act on are vastly different things. Meanwhile, another square concerning the stars of Pisces — this time between Mercury and Neptune — will be in full force between May 25 and June 9th due to Mercury retrograde. An aspect that can bring with it a great deal of confusion and uncertainty, it’s an excellent time to lay low or take a big step back to survey the scene. In fact, those of us particularly affected by this Mercury transit (Geminis, Sagittarians, Pisces, Virgos) might do well to embrace whatever limitations find us, and work with them rather than against them.

Aries Sun & Aries RisingThe week is a great time for you to reflect on how you learn your lessons and how you might like to continue to do so — especially if they often come from your mistakes. With Mercury and Venus in your house of communications forming a tense square to Neptune in your house of subconscious and undoing, these blunders can range from an altogether revealing Freudian slip to a painful disagreement between loved ones. While you might have a reputation for acting first and thinking after, it will serve you well to make sure what you say is really what you mean. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Taurus Sun & Taurus RisingA wheel never stops turning and the Zodiac’s no different. The progression of becomings, from differentiating the self, to sharing that self through creativity, to understanding one’s role within a larger whole, never ends. Rather, the lessons layer as you face your many returns around the sun. This week, the full moon in your house of rebirth opposes the Sun in your house of resources while your ruling planet squares Neptune. What you own is not all that you have, and it will not define who you are becoming. Trouble your assumptions and what you know to be true. Ask yourself: Is there a new truth about you that’s emerging? Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Gemini Sun & Gemini RisingThe Sagittarian full moon eclipse opposes the Sun in Gemini, and while a solar return is always a kind of blessing, there’s reason to be cautious. As the Earth moves between the Sun and moon, obscuring the light, what you claim for yourself and what your heart desires might find themselves on opposite sides of what’s possible. What’s unspoken can lead to a great deal of disappointment, so it’s on you to make sure you speak from the heart and keep your side of the street clean — even if it means admitting you want more than what’s on offer. Cancer Sun & Cancer RisingBecause you answer to the moon, you’ll find yourself especially sensitive to the Sagittarian lunar eclipse this week. Rising in your sixth house of service, worldly tasks, and physical ailments, this moon is here to remind you that while you may act from a place of boundlessness, people can only take what they’re able to receive. This is a lifelong lesson for you, and it will hardly be the first or last time you’ll encounter it. This week, it will serve you well to stay conscious of moments when you give more than is asked for, and to what purpose. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Leo Sun & Leo RisingSometimes what makes us feel secure enough to express ourselves in ways that are vulnerable doesn’t necessarily line up with our community practices. Creating something that goes beyond us is a bond we make with lifeforce, and it’s mysterious. Our communities are meant to support this bond, not inhibit it. Inside mystery, the act of creation is private — that’s what makes it sacred to the collective. This week, ask yourself what conditions are necessary to take creative risks? How can you go about meeting those conditions? Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Virgo Sun & Virgo RisingThis week, it should feel more clear to you than ever that the line between who you are privately and publicly isn’t where it used to be. The stakes have changed and you’ve changed with them. Perhaps you’re learning that the division itself is even more gestural than you previously imagined. If the work of moving or troubling that line is one of sharing your more hidden self with the public world, don’t let the limitations of other people’s imagination define your own. You define yourself and what you do first — they get to read the definition. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Libra Sun & Libra RisingThere’s magic to a real connection. You can like someone well enough, enjoy their style or their interests — and still find the air devoid of that special sparkly feeling when you’re near them. This is true for dating and budding friendships, new job positions, cities, and projects, too. If it isn’t there, though it isn’t there, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with noticing that. That luck of *something* is no deciding factor, it’s simply one of many truths. If this week finds you noticing that something is missing, ask yourself what’s there that makes it worth staying on. Scorpio Sun & Scorpio RisingNext week finds you reckoning with what you’ve got and what you plan to do with it. Resources are meant to serve a purpose, otherwise they simply function as proof of a life gone by rather than an intention to live it. How can you put your resources to good use? This week’s lunar eclipse shines a light on all you’ve collected this past year and asks you if, in the process of that collection, you’ve gained insight into your personal relationship with wealth. Is it always true that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone? What would it take to change the script? Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Sagittarius Sun & Sagittarius RisingThere are certain aspects of being with other people that are intrinsic to our self-knowing. Loved ones reflect us back to ourselves, layered with shared histories. But, it’s also true that the way people see us, how they regard and respond to us, might have nothing to do with who we are and everything to do with who they are. It’s tough to differentiate, and tougher not to take to heart. This week, if you find yourself yearning for company but unsure of how to be in that company, try to hold what’s constant about you (whether you’re alone or with others) in the center of your mind’s eye. Don’t lose sight of her. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Capricorn Sun & Capricorn RisingThere are many ways for our bodies to surprise us — especially if we remember that our minds are part of our body, and our minds collect more information than we can ever account for. There is so much stored inside you, Capricorn, so many different ways to be in this world, to love it, and to grieve it. The bodies that you’ve cared for blend with your own in the storehouse of the mind, a memory that rises when a bone aches or a bump swells. Better to admit that nothing is ever forgotten, only safekept. Better to attend to what’s in front of you knowing that in doing so, you’re honoring what’s gone. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Aquarius Sun & Aquarius RisingOf course, you know that change is the only constant. You might have learned it over the course of your life or perhaps Octavia Butler made a big impression. The sting of a lesson is not in the learning of it, it’s in the way it keeps returning in a different get-up, acting like you’ve never met before. Don’t take it to heart, dear Aquarius, the nature of lessons is to return — looking different and trying to go deeper. It doesn’t make you a fool, it doesn’t mean you made the same mistake. This week, spend time reflecting on how your relationship to pleasure has widened, how it’s placed you firmly at the centre. Illustration by Stefhany Lozano

Pisces Sun & Pisces RisingSometimes, we have a vision so large for ourselves we can’t find the words for it. Sometimes, the families we come from or even the ones we made along the way don’t understand what it is we’re dreaming up, and so they worry for us and try to sway our dream. It’s okay if the pieces are still in flux, dear Pisces, it doesn’t mean the doubt others express should be your own. Nor does it mean that you have to go hard in the other direction, taking risks to prove naysayers wrong. Take your time and take bold steps only when they feel right — not when you feel reactive.
