Neve Campbell 'excited' to reunite with Courteney Cox and David Arquette for Scream 5

Neve Campbell is just as excited about her upcoming reunion with Courteney Cox and David Arquette as all Scream fans.

The trio are confirmed to star in Scream 5, which is set to see them filming together real soon, and the actress opened up about her delight about working with her co-stars again.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she stated: ‘I am leaving soon [and] I am looking forward to getting back to work.

‘It will be the first time since March and I am sure we are all dealing with getting back to work, so I am excited about that. I am excited [about] stepping back in Sidney’s shoes and seeing Courteney and David.’

She continued: ‘Those movies mean so much to me for my life and career and they are always a blast to do, so it should be fun!’

The 46-year-old actress is returning to the iconic horror franchise as Sidney Prescott, the long-suffering victim of Ghostface.

And in another chat with The Talk, she also teased the fact her character will get into gory situations once again.

She explained: ‘Oh you guys, I’m 47 and I’m going to be covered in blood. I’m excited to get back to it…

‘I’m excited to see this young new cast. I’m excited to work with these new directors.’

Neve admitted: ‘I had been apprehensive because our incredible director, Wes Craven, passed away and I wasn’t sure about doing a film without him.

‘But the new directors came to me with this beautiful letter, saying they’ve become directors and love film because of these films and because of Wes. And they really want to be true to his story and his journey with these films. So, I was really happy to hear that.’

It was recently announced that Selena Gomez will be involved, while The Boys star Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are also newbies.

Scream will arrive in cinemas on January 14 2022.
