The trailer for the next James Bond movie, No Time To Die, has officially dropped, and we’ve got some questions we need answering.

Daniel Craig is set to make his final outing as 007 in the Cary Joji Fukunaga-directed movie, with the trailer giving us glimpses at the cast in action, including Rami Malek (Safin), Ana de Armas (Paloma) and Lashana Lynch (Noma).

While the action-packed clip has got us all ready to see Bond doing what he does best, there’s a lot the movie has to answer.

And we’re not just talking about whether Ana can teach us those badass fight sequences (although seriously, we’re interested).

What does Bond mean by ‘the past isn’t dead?’ Where is Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s influence going to come into it, after we’ve been told that she had a hand in helping with the script? And how is Daniel going to leave Bond with a bang?

Only a couple more months until we can find out!

Where is Bond and what does he mean by ‘the past isn’t dead’?

We’re going to need a lot of answers (Picture: Universal)

Ralph Fiennes’ character M asked the all-important question of where 007 is in the trailer, hinting that our beloved spy isn’t going to come to the rescue quite as quickly as expected.

It’s no secret that the film follows on from Bond leaving active service – although he’s quick to answer a call to action when Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), an old friend from the CIA, needs help.

But how are we going to meet retired Bond? Will he be contentedly chilling, cocktail in hand by a pool? Or itching to get back to his days as a spy?

Plus, what exactly does he mean by ‘the past isn’t dead?’ Are we going to be seeing someone we thought was gone come back to haunt us? Truly, anything could happen.

Who is going to ‘kill millions’?

Lashana Lynch gave us an incredibly ominous hint about the plot of the upcoming movie as she declared: ‘He’s going to kill millions’.

At the moment, we can only assume she’s talking about Rami’s villain Safin, especially after he admitted to Bond that they both want to ‘eradicate people to make the world a better place’ (we’re getting major Samuel L Jackson in Kingsman vibes, by the way).

But is there someone else we need to be wary of? We’re on high alert over here.

Where is Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s influence?

Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Fleabag fans were overjoyed when writer and creator, and all around queen Phoebe Waller-Bridge was brought on board to liven the script up a little and add some of her trademark humour.

We don’t mean to be blunt but where exactly is it?

We certainly can’t blame the studio for ensuring that the trailer was non-stop action, but here’s hoping we get some of Phoebe’s humour in the full movie – especially considering the incredible cast, including Ana, Lashana, and Ralph will have no problem bringing it to life.

What is Madeleine Swann’s secret?

Bond and Madeleine Swann (played by Léa Seydoux) looked all kinds of loved-up in the trailer, but that might be about to change.

It’s been heavily implied that the secret agent’s lover has a big secret that will be revealed in the movie, as fans are told: ‘When her secret gets out, it’ll be the death of him’.

We’re seriously hoping they don’t mean literally, but we wouldn’t put it past them.

What exactly will Lashana Lynch’s role involve?

Lashana Lynch’s role has been one of the biggest mysteries of the next Bond movie.

We’ve been told she’s going to be next to take on the 007 role after Daniel bows out, but what form will that take?

The trailer hasn’t answered the question in any major way, with the character just being referred to as ‘your new double O’ and viewers seeing her partnering up with James for his mission.

Whatever is set to happen with her, we’ve got no doubts it’ll be completely epic.

How will Daniel Craig bow out in style?

Last, but certainly not least, fans are completely in the dark about how Daniel is set to leave this iconic era of his life behind.

The final act of No Time To Die will have to wrap up his arc, before presumably handing over the reins to Lashana – but is he going to die?

Could we see a faking his own death scenario for him to head off into a peaceful retirement with Madeleine by his side? Or, uncharacteristically for him, are we set for a cool, calm and collected handover that sees him ready to exit the special agent business for good?

We doubt it, but stranger things have definitely happened.

No Time To Die is set for release on November 12, 2020.
