Ariana Grande dropped a major surprise on fans this week after announcing she’s releasing a new album this month.
The Thank U, Next singer has been fairly quiet during the pandemic months with barely any new music and little activity on social media.
Well it seems Ariana, 27, was simply busy in the recording studio as she’s dropping a whole new body of work on us in a matter of days.
In a casual tweet, the pop star told fans: ‘I can’t wait to give u my album this month.’
We’re more than happy for an early Christmas present.
It’ll be Ariana’s sixth studio album following the monster success of Thank U, Next, which soared to number one in February 2019.
That album came pretty quickly off the back of her fourth record, Sweetener, and boasted the hit songs 7 Rings, Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored and the title track.
In recent months, Ari hasn’t released any of her own new music but did feature on Justin Bieber’s Stuck With You and Lady Gaga’s Rain On Me, both which topped the charts worldwide.
Perhaps #AG6, as her new album is being dubbed, will feature an epic collaboration with Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson as recent mounting rumours suggest.
It came about after Mariah shared a teasing photo of three chairs with the initials AG, MC, and JH alongside a Christmas tree emoji.
While MC quite clearly refers to Mariah, fans have speculated about who the other two chairs are for – and two main answers are coming to mind. ‘MARIAH CAREY ARIANA GRANDE AND JENNIFER HUDSON ARE COLLABORATING ON A CHRISTMAS SONG, GET THE F**K UP THIS IS THE COLLAB OF THE CENTURY,’ one excited fan wrote.
Another added: ‘Mariah carey, jennifer hudson, & ariana grande collabing to save 2020 this christmas,’ while one more said: ‘OMG if we get Ariana Grande , Jennifer Hudson on Mariah Carey Christmas collaboration.’
