‘A hooker?’ Jennifer Aniston mishears Josie Gibson due to accent during chaotic This Morning chat

Jennifer Aniston awkwardly thought Josie Gibson asked if she was ‘a hooker’ during a chaotic This Morning chat.

The Morning Show actress was interviewed, alongside her co-star Reese Witherspoon, by Josie via video call for the ITV breakfast programme this week and things took an awkward turn when the presenter’s strong Bristolian accent caused a bit of confusion.

After chatting about how the pandemic impacted filming for the second season of the Apple TV series, Jennifer joked that future episodes would see the cast make the most of relaxed social distancing rules.

‘This next season, we’re hoping we’re gonna be all over each other, it’s just going to be a summer of love,’ she said.

Josie followed that up by asking if the Friends star was much of a ‘hugger’, but the question didn’t quite come across as innocently as it seemed.

‘A hooker? I thought that was a thing, I’m sorry, with the translation,’ she mumbled as the interviewer looked mortified and Reese howled with laughter.

‘Yes, I am a hugger,’ she clarified, thankfully seeing the funny side as Josie made hugging motions at the camera to really drive the point home.

‘She’s not a hooker, no,’ Reese giggled, after the pair had been given a crash course in the Bristolian accent at the beginning of the chat by giving their best ‘Alright my lover’ for the camera.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby found the whole situation as hilarious as you’d imagine, laughing as soon as the feed cut back to the studio and teasing Josie for her big moment.

‘That’s like my favourite bit of TV ever,’ Holly laughed. ‘Hugger, very different!’

Given how well both stars took the misunderstanding in their stride, it’s no wonder they admitted they let off plenty of steam on set with a relaxed atmosphere.

‘We have so much fun, we enjoyed ourselves,’ Reese said.

Jennifer agreed, adding: ‘We have fun. We got to work, we’re goofballs, we love what we do. They say action, we do our job, love it, we laugh and cry.’

This Morning airs every weekday on ITV at 10am.
