It can be a little daunting watching the news at the moment, but one report was made all the better by an adorable puppy who completely stole the show.
FOX 5 correspondent Bob Barnard was covering the snowy conditions in Northern Virginia in the US, when an adorable dog scampered into shot.
Bob wasted no time in crouching down to scoop up the pup, named Pierogi, with it later being revealed that she had escaped her house to play in the snow.
‘Come here!’ Bob called, as he picked the dog up, clearly having the time of his life, before reuniting her with her owner.
‘Forget the people we talked to earlier, I wanna get to know this dog,’ he laughed. ‘I got a couple of businesses going! I’m gonna be dog-sitting.’
‘It’s a great day,’ he declared. ‘Life is good’.
Fans were thrilled by the pup, and impressed at Bob’s ability to ‘roll with the punches’ live on air, as one commented: ‘He is now by far my favourite reporter. What a way to handle all these random encounters. Have a fantastic day Bob!’
‘This guy looked like he had so much fun with this segment,’ one more said, while another added: ‘I hereby nominate this for best video of 2021.’
With more TV being filmed from home as a result of the coronavirus pandemic over the past year, plenty of news reports and interviews have been crashed by furry friends.
Last year, weatherman Paul Dellegato’s report was interrupted by his pup Brody, who didn’t care about the weather, but instead just wanted his dinner.
Petition for news anchors and weather reporters to bring their dogs to work from now on?
