Alison Hammond insists she’s ‘too old’ to have another baby as Dermot O’Leary reveals he’s keen on the idea

Alison Hammond has insisted she’s ‘too old’ to have another baby after her This Morning co-host Dermot O’Leary expressed his support for the idea.

On Friday’s edition of This Morning, Alison and Dermot welcomed James and Chloe Lusted onto the show.

James has one of the rarest forms of Dwarfism, known as Diastrophic Dysplasia, with the married couple claiming the Guinness World Record for having the biggest height difference – 1ft 10in – between them.

They were joined in the ITV studio by their two-year-old daughter Olivia, who won over the hearts of This Morning viewers as she ran around and played with Dermot, high-fiving the TV presenter.

As the interview with James and Chloe drew to a close, Dermot told them that they ‘need to make more of these’, gesturing towards Olivia.

‘Are you thinking about a bigger family?’ Alison asked, to which James replied: ‘Who knows? If it happens, it happens,’ explaining that Olivia hadn’t been planned.

Dermot then chimed up with an unexpected remark, stating: ‘I want Alison to have another one.’

‘Do you?! I’m too old babes!’ Alison replied with incredulity.

Nonetheless, Alison added: ‘Then again, Naomi Campbell – 50,’ referencing the fact that supermodel Naomi Campbell announced in May that she had become a first-time mum at 50.

Alison, 46, has a 16-year-old son called Aiden, with whom she shares her birthday on February 5.

On their joint birthday this year, Alison appeared on This Morning, recalling having her scan live on the show to find out she was having a boy.

‘16 years ago I had that boy and actually I remember being on this show having a scan and they scanned me and told me I was having a boy. On this show!’ she said.

Dermot, 48, also has one child, his son Kasper, who he shares with his wife Dee Koppang and who was born on June 23 last year.

Last month, Dermot recollected the first time he met Alison during an interview with OK! magazine, saying she was ‘always 100% herself’.

‘It’s easy to say now that she was always destined to do this, but there’s a world of difference between being yourself in a reality show and being able to host a show,’ he said.

‘There aren’t that many people who can do that. Alison’s one, Rylan [Clark-Neal] is one… You can count them on one hand really.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
