A Britain’s Got Talent contestant has suffered a gruesome injury, leaving the judges stunned at this week’s London auditions.
The ITV show finally returned to action with auditions kicking off at the London Palladium after a year off screen due to the pandemic.
Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Williams and Alesha Dixon were visibly in shock by the ordeal while the live audience ‘gasped’.
But in a nasty surprise, icebreaker JD Anderson, who previously appeared on America’s Got Talent, was left injured after smashing ice on his head.
‘You expect weird acts but this guy was smashing ice on his head,’ an onlooker told The Sun. ‘Amanda was visibly wincing each time the blocks of ice got bigger but Simon appeared to be loving it.
‘It ended with JD running into a giant block of ice and smashing it up, causing the audience to gasp.
‘It soon became clear he was in pain and blood could be seen coming out of his head.
‘Medics obviously had to intervene, making sure that he was OK and hadn’t given himself a concussion. It looked like it hurt but there was no lasting harm done.’
While BGT won’t air until later in the year, there’s already been plenty of drama spilling out of the auditions.
Amanda was said to be ‘raging’ at Simon over an X-rated joke made at her expense, while David Williams was ‘warned he’ll be out of a job’ over a joke.
Oh, and a couple got married during their audition.
Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV later this year.
