Celebs Go Dating star Rob Beckett ‘lands his own ITV show’: ‘The big break he deserves’

Rob Beckett has reportedly landed his first solo presenting gig on ITV.

The comedian, 35, who lends his recognisable voice to Channel 4’s Celebs Go Dating, is apparently set to take centre stage on his own programme where six celebrities complete a variety of hilarious challenges.

According to The Sun, the project is called The Rob Beckett Comedy Entertainment Show, and so far it’s only a pilot but there are hopes it could lead to a full series.

A TV insider supposedly told the publication: ‘It’s fair to say he hasn’t really had the big break he deserves since he started to gain a profile 10 years ago — and this could be just what he needs.’

If confirmed, viewers will be seeing the funnyman without fellow comedian Romesh Ranganathan by his side.

The double act recently co-presented and starred in Sky One’s Rob & Romesh Vs, which followed them interviewing the biggest stars in sport, entertainment, fashion, and more.

Romesh is currently hosting BBC’s The Weakest Link after it was confirmed back in June that he would be replacing the formidable Anne Robinson.

Rob’s recent antics prove he’s someone who is always down for a laugh after he documented his rowdy night at this year’s Euro 2020 on social media, much to the delight of his followers.

The stand-up comic was posting regular updates from the game – which only got wilder as the night progressed – and ended up eating chicken from the floor.

He revealed that he was tucking into a KFC takeaway on the pavement while almost getting run over by a police car, before eventually getting into an Uber home.
