David Schwimmer is forced to flee The Graham Norton Show promptly tonight as he was whisked off to shoot the long-awaited Friends Reunion.
After fans were treated to a first look at Monica’s apartment being restored especially for the HBO Max episode, David – who starred as problematic palaeontologist Ross Geller – confirmed he’s flying out to Los Angles to film the special alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc.
‘I will get to see everyone for the first time in years,’ David teased to Graham, as he’s joined by Intelligence co-star Nick Mohammed, Drag Race’s Michelle Visage, Frank Skinner, Octavia Spencer and Mellisa McCarthy.
Asked if he will be Ross or David in the reunion, the 54-year-old revealed: ‘I’ll be David. Nothing is scripted and we are not in character.
‘We are all ourselves, although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something.’
While any true Friends fan can recite every line, has the rules of Bamboozled nailed and can sing all of Phoebe’s classic bangers word for word, David has a lot of brushing up to do.
David had to make a swift exit from The Graham Norton Show
‘I should have genned up on old episodes, but I just haven’t been able to bring myself to catch up on the 236 shows,’ he joked. ‘I guess I need to watch a lot over the next five days!’
The Friends Reunion has faced several delays due to coronavirus, after initially being planned to launch US streaming service HBO Max in 2020.
The special will mark the first time all six cast mates have appeared on screen together since Rachel got off the plane and Monica and Chandler moved to Westchester County 17 years ago.
