Doctor Who fans are still waiting to find out exactly what events will cause the 13th Doctor to regenerate ahead the actress’ looming exit.
It was confirmed the show’s leading lady would be leaving alongside showrunner Chris Chibnall at the end of series 13.
But with many details still under wraps, it looks confirmed to be one of the most dramatic series yet.
A new synopsis on AMC has teased what will happen in the upcoming six-part series later this year.
It reads: ‘She’s back. The Thirteenth Doctor is returning for the thirteenth series in what is set to be a six-part Event Serial.
‘Since their last epic battle in Revolution of the Daleks, the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and Yaz (Mandip Gill) have been exploring the universe together but with the Doctor now questioning everything about her past there she will undoubtedly be searching for answers.
‘This adrenalin fueled; universe-spanning series will also see an addition to the TARDIS with actor and comedian John Bishop joining the cast as Dan Lewis who will quickly learn there’s more to the Universe than he could ever believe.

It goes on to tease another shake-up to the series as Broadchurch star Jacob Anderson will join as recurring character, Vinder.
The synopsis adds: ‘Jacob’s new role will see him join forces with the Doctor, Yaz and Dan as the Doctor faces her biggest ever adventure.
‘Series 13 is set to introduce some terrifying new adversaries and the return of truly iconic old enemies. Expect action, fun, scares, extraordinary new worlds as the Doctor and her friends confront a deadly evil…’
But with ‘iconic enemies’ having been hinted at, just who will the Doctor and her companions have to face up to this time around?
In season 12, fans saw the Doctor, Yaz, Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Graham (Bradley Walsh) take on the Daleks and the Cybermen.

And with both having such iconic status in the show’s history, it’s not out of the question they might be at war with the Time Lord very soon once more.
The show’s official Twitter account shared a new snap of the three main stars.
The picture, which shows John, Jodie and Mandip against a spray-painted graffiti wall, was captioned: ‘Meet the new team TARDIS!’
Season 13 will be made up of eight episodes, with the first six airing this autumn, followed by two specials in 2022.
But the ultimate question remains – who will replace the 13th Doctor?
