Dragons’ Den hopeful tries to set Steven Bartlett up with her daughter after he reveals he’s looking for love

Dragons’ Den viewers were left howling after a hopeful tried to set Steven Bartlett up with her daughter after finding out he was single.

Entrepreneurs Debbie Greaves and her partner Rob Angell had visited the Den to pitch their business, Barking Bags, selling specially designed bags for dogwalkers.

The pair had showcased their bags, which had specially made compartments to dispense poo bags, store full bags until they can be safely disposed of, and places for treats and toys to take on a dog walk.

While the bags piqued some of the Dragons’ interests, Steven, 29, revealed that he would not be keen on using one on his own dog walks as the look of it does not fit his personal style.

He told them: ‘It’s 10 out of 10 utility and four out of 10 fashion,’ to which Sara Davies responded: ‘You’ve given it four out of 10, my mam’s going to love this!’

Steven asked: ‘How old is your mum?’ to which Sara revealed she was 58. Steven responded: ‘Ok, I’m a single [then] 28-year-old guy trying to find a girlfriend. That’s not going to help me!’

Not missing a beat after finding out the very eligible bachelor was in fact single, Debbie replied: ‘My daughter’s out the back!’

Viewers took to Twitter to share their amusement at the moment, writing: ‘Did the doggy bag lady just try to set #stephenbartlett up with her daughter?!’

Others joked: ‘“My daughters out the back” god thought it was just equity on offer here’ and ‘Ahh and there’s the soundbite we’ve been waiting for all Winter “My daughters out back….”’.

Steven himself took to Twitter to quip: ‘That’s the first time someone has pitched me their daughter in the Den.’

Debbie later took to Twitter to confirm: ‘Before you ask… neither of my daughters met up with Steven. They are both very happy with their relationships. They both work for the NHS they know about tough working environments.’

While she may not have secured a millionaire son-in-law, Debbie did manage to secure an investment in her business with Sara, who jumped at the chance to get on board with the doggy bags.

Dragon’s Den airs Thursdays from 8pm on BBC One.
