GB News has officially launched introducing the nation to its team of established and up and coming reporters as Andrew Neil vowed to ‘give a voice to those who feel sidelined’.

The first ever GB News programme, fronted by Andrew Neil, saw the likes of Simon McCoy, Alastair Stewart, Kirsty Gallacher and Dan Wooton tease what viewers can expect from their respective programmes.

Opening the channel with a speech directly to those tuning in, Neil, who used to present on the BBC, said he would ‘expose cancel culture as threat to free speech’ and ‘we won’t forget what the B stands for in our title’.

‘GB News will not be yet another echo chamber for the Metropolitan mindset that already dominates so much of our media. It is our explicit aim to empower those who feel their stories, their opinions, their concerns have been ignored or diminished,’ he said.

He added that they ‘won’t dwell much on the latest gossip of the Westminster bubble’, adding that GB News will ‘puncture the pomposity of our elites in politics, business, media and academia and expose their growing promotion of cancel culture for the threat to free speech and democracy that it is’.

Andrew added that if viewers are after ‘fake news, lies and disinformation’, then ‘GB News is not for you’, as he stressed that the channel will be ‘guided by the highest journalistic standards’.

So now GB News is officially a thing, what does the channel have to offer in terms of programming?
