Gogglebox’s Pete sent light-hearted birthday message from great uncle Paul Chuckle

Gogglebox’s Pete Sandiford received a funny birthday message from his great uncle Paul Chuckle. Yes, Paul Chuckle!

The television star turned 27 over the weekend and marked the occasion with an adorable picture with his newborn son, Jimmy.

In the hilarious photo, Pete was seen smiling as he held the little one in his arms but Jimmy was having none of it and let out a frustrated cry.

Captioning the snap, Pete wrote: ‘Jimmy wishing his daddy a happy birthday.’

He also tagged his wife Paige and his sister Sophie, who appears beside him on the Channel 4 show.

Pete’s uncle Paul was among the of the celebs to respond to the post and joked: ‘Fancy frightening little Jimmy on your birthday… Happy birthday mate have a good un x.’

Paul, of course, was one half of the notorious double act the Chuckle Brothers, with his younger brother Barry Chuckle.

Chuckle died aged 73 in 2018 following a battle with bone cancer. He had kept his illness secret for two years not just from his fans, but from his family too.

Appearing on This Morning in 2018, Paul explained to hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford: ‘He had pains in his legs for about two years and he kept telling me it was sciatica.

‘He found out at some point and kept it from me and our manager, we would’ve said no but he wanted to work until he died.

‘He wanted to die on stage, he loved working and making people laugh. He’s just a lovely guy, and did what he wanted to do.’

The Chuckle Brothers became famous for their slapstick comedy and catchphrase ‘to me, to you’ and appeared in the children’s television show Chucklevision.
