Gogglebox’s Tom Malone Jr and girlfriend Bryony Briscoe laugh off vile racist trolls who attack romance

Gogglebox’s Tom Malone Jr and his girlfriend Bryony Briscoe have spoken out about the racist abuse they suffer as an interracial couple.

The duo, who have recently moved in together, have blasted the online trolls attacking them online, and have spoken about how they rise above it.

Dating since the beginning of this year, Tom and Bryony revealed that ever since going Instagram official in June, they have been inundated with vile hate and racist attacks.

Speaking in an Instagram Q+A, the pair were asked about the challenges they face, and didn’t hold back.

‘I mainly just get trolls. They are always behind a fake account and they just post like the usual stupid things like monkey emojis that clearly aren’t original,’ Tom said.

‘Wannabe slave, that’s another one,’ Bryony said of what she receives. ‘I also get people telling me not to date outside my race, but they don’t realise that I am mixed race.

‘Then when they realise that then it’s “Well, you are what your father is” so then I become white, so what is it?’

Laughing off the ridiculous standards set to them by others, Tom then said that they know the best thing they can do is to just enjoy their relationship how they want.

‘At the end of the day just be with who you wanna be with and be happy because these people aren’t even brave enough to have their own name or faces on their account,’ he said.

‘So just p**s them off even more by being happy because that’s the biggest middle finger.’

Professional dancer Tom previously spoke about the possibility of moving on from Gogglebox, with social distancing restrictions causing havoc with filming at his parents’ home.

The show is due to return to our screens in February.

Gogglebox is available for catch-up on Channel 4 On Demand.
