Good Morning Britain viewers were left wanting more from guest presenter Martin Lewis after his stint as co-anchor with Susanna Reid came to an end.
On Wednesday morning Susanna used the end of the show to thank Martin for being ‘value for money’ over the last three days as the studio burst into applause.
She said: ‘Martin, it’s been absolutely wonderful having you, I’m sure you don’t work for free but you’re always value for money of course, and it’s always fantastic working with you.’
Her tie-shunning co-star said: ‘It has been a wonderful refreshing change to outside my normal subject, which I love and I will be going back to. I think I have a mission in life and that’s about saving people money and fighting for financial justice.’
Susanna replied: ‘Well you certainly didn’t steer clear of that on the programme.’
Martin went on: ‘To have a platform here, and to come and do this…maybe you’ll have me back for another few days. I don’t want the gig permanently but I wouldn’t mind coming back.’

The financial expert revealed he had brought a divine-looking treat for everyone at the desk, including newsreader Ranvir Singh and comedian Omid Djalili, giving us serious food FOMO.
‘This is a good Jewish dish, it’s chocolate rugelach,’ he said.
‘Now if you think of a pain au chocolat, if you looked at a pain au chocolat and though “It’s way too healthy, it’s full of vegetables. How do we make it dirty, calorific and a lot more stodgy?” Its Jewish cousin the chocolate rugelach is that, so I brought some in for you all to have as a bit of a celebration.’
There was a mix of sadness and disappointment at the end of the show, plus some surprise that the TV star won’t be back just yet.
‘Martin Lewis has been brilliant on GMB, he’s so knowledgable & isn’t afraid to challenge important issues,’ one said.
‘Loving Martin Lewis on #GMB. Can we keep him?’ another wrote on Twitter.

‘Loving Martin Lewis on GMB should get the job full time,’ one viewer tweeted.

Since Piers Morgan’s exit from the ITV programme earlier this year, Susanna has been joined by a string of co-hosts including Adil Ray, Bill Turnbull, Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley.
Piers’ successor hasn’t been named but recent reports suggested another woman could get the hot seat full time.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
