Viewers catching up with Tuesday’s Great British Bake Off on All4 were left ‘furious’ after the result was ruined for them with a spoiled-filled advert.

Fans who missed the show go out live tuned into the on-demand service, only to have the identity of the baker who left on Tuesday’s show revealed during the ad break.

Fans who purposefully avoided social media and news reports to watch the show ‘as live’ on the service were left bitterly disappointed.

‘I am FURIOUS!’ one wrote, adding: ‘During an ad break they showed a trailer for the final, and showed who was in the final!’

Another said: ‘Really glad you used the final ad break of the semi-final of #BakeOff to screen an advert for the final, showing who was left. Great work, thanks for the #spoiler.’

Four bakers went head to head in the semi-final on Thursday during patisserie week, with Hermine missing out on the final at the final hurdle.

Fans were furious after the 39-year-old baker was axed from the show by Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood after failing to impress with her showstopper.

Peter, Laura and Dave will now be battling it out for the winning title next week.

Hermine left a hilarious and moving message after leaving the competition, reminding people that ‘being yourself is all you need to be’.

Meanwhile, Laura has reminded fans that it’s not her fault Hermine was eliminated from the competition.

The baker was saved on the show despite struggling in both the technical and showstopper rounds. Following backlash from viewers, the finalist encouraged disgruntled fans to be kind.

Hermine has also led the stars shutting down the online hate for Laura following last night’s result.

Great British Bake Off returns on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
