Here’s Your Reminder That a Line of Duty Podcast Exists to Refresh Your Memory on Season 5

We know you’re already across the fact that the sixth series of Line of Duty is returning to the BBC on 21 March. But what you may not know is the podcast Obsessed With . . . Line of Duty is also returning to BBC Sounds to take up its rightful place as your debriefing companion.

Although Line of Duty is returning for its sixth season on the BBC, it’s actually just the second season of the podcast. Hosted by Lolly Adefope and Brett Goldstein, they dissect the show, episode by thrilling episode, right after it airs on TV. (That means it’s the perfect way to catch up on the the latest series if you don’t actually want to sit down and watch it through a second time.)

This season, the podcast looks a little bit different with former cast member Craig Parkinson (who played DI Matthew “The Caddy” Cottan) taking up the helm. Every week, Parkinson will comb through each episode in forensic detail, accompanied by celebrity superfans and fellow cast members, past and present.

“As someone who’s been deep on the inside,” Parkinson said in a press release by the BBC, “I’m well aware we’ll be in for a rollercoaster ride and hosting the podcast side by side, week by week, we’ll be able to delve deep into the files and fan theories of AC-12.”

The upcoming season is already looking to be a corker, with newly minted BBC mainstay Shalom Brune-Franklin joining the cast as DC Chloe Bishop. She’ll be starring alongside Vicky McClure, who’s reprising her role as DI Kate Fleming, plus Adrian Dunbar as Superintendent Ted Hastings, and Martin Compston as DS Steve Arnott. It’s unclear at this stage whether Brune-Franklin will be a good cop or a corrupt cop infiltrating AC-12, and we just can’t wait to see it all unfold.

The new season of Line of Duty will air on BBC weekly from 21 March and the Obsessed With . . . Line of Duty podcast will drop on the same day as the episodes.
