Shane Richie fears the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestants will be tripping on magic mushrooms in the middle of the night.
The former EastEnders star, who is one of 10 celebrities on this year’s line-up, has been researching mushrooms ahead of his stint in the Welsh castle in case he’s forced to go foraging for food due to hunger.
‘I have been reading about mushrooms and because we’re in the wild forest of Wales there are certain mushrooms I’m looking out for,’ he told Metro.co.uk.
‘But the danger is, I don’t know the difference between edible ones and magic mushrooms. We could be off our t*ts at 3 o’clock in the morning singing Kumbaya to the moon.’
He laughed: ‘Can you imagine Mo Farah off his t**ts on magic mushrooms?’
Now that would make quite a show…
This year’s I’m A Celebrity will take place at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales and bosses have given fans a cheeky first-look at the grounds – including the freezing cold bedroom where the contestants will sleep.
As the show has relocated, some of the terminology has been updated. For example, the infamous dunny is now the privy, and dingo dollars are now castle coins.
Also confirmed to be taking part are broadcaster Vernon Kay, Paralympian Hollie Arnold, BBC Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, Coronation Street star Beverley Callard, podcast host Giovanna Fletcher and former Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! begins on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
