Shane Richie and Coleen Nolan’s son Shane Jr is reportedly planning to change his name to support his dad during I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! this year.
While most family members might normally post messages on social media or call up to vote, Shane is thought to be going one step further.
The 31-year-old previously used his dad’s surname, but changed it during 2017 to Nolan to support mum during her time in Celebrity Big Brother.
As The Sun reports, now it looks like he might be changing it back.
Shane has yet to confirm the news, although he took to Twitter to joke about the reports, saying: ‘I was thinking more Alfie moon Jr tbh.’
Eastenders star Shane has emerged as one of the early favourites for this year’s I’m A Celeb, which has been forced to relocate to Gwrych Castle in Wales during the pandemic.
The actor recently admitted he was forced into this year’s show after having to borrow money from friends when work dried up.
The 56-year-old, best known for playing Alfie Moon in the BBC soap, said: ‘I was going on tour, doing a TV series and panto but that all got cancelled in March. Now I am literally skint! You save money for a rainy day but you don’t expect the rainy day to last six months.
‘Thankfully, I’ve been able to borrow money from mates, my family and the bank… and my wife is now very happy we can finally pay off the credit card!’
In more good news for Richie, I’m A Celeb stars have reportedly won a ‘secret battle over their pay’ with ITV bosses ahead of this year’s series.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns to ITV on Sunday at 9pm.
