I’m A Celebrity 2020: What is the Celebrity Cyclone on tonight’s show?

Despite doubts that it wouldn’t take place following I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’s move from Australia to Gwrych Castle in Wales, Celebrity Cyclone is making an epic comeback on tonight’s show.

Following AJ Pritchard and Sir Mo Farah’s double elimination from the show last night, the final four contestants left in the show will have their grit and determination put to the test in the famous challenge, which has become a particular favourite among fans over the years.

So what exactly is the Celebrity Cyclone? Here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Celebrity Cyclone and who is taking part?

The Celebrity Cyclone has been a fixture on the programme since the sixth series.

It is a physical challenge of the highest order, in which the celebrities taking part must make their way up an incline dressed as superheroes, complete with capes and dashing goggles.

But, it’s not as simple as a mere walk up a hill. While there aren’t any critters in sight for this particular challenge, the celebrities must instead battle the elements, as they’re hosed down with water, have strong winds blown their way and have to dodge obstacles such as large, plastic balls.

And, of course, that’s not all. In addition to making their way up the incline while working as a team, they must also get their hands on giant stars, keeping them in place on certain points of the course. A difficult feat when you’re slipping and sliding in every direction.

As the final four celebrities on this year’s I’m A Celebrity, Giovanna Fletcher, Jordan North, Shane Richie and Vernon Kay will be taking part in tonight’s Celebrity Cyclone.

What’s going to happen in tonight’s Celebrity Cyclone?

Ahead of tonight’s episode, ITV released a sneak peek of the Celebrity Cyclone… and it looks like the celebrities have their work cut out for them.

In the short clip, Vernon can be seen standing up as he attempts to get to the top of the incline, strongly standing his ground as giant balls are thrown in his direction and Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly repeatedly shout ‘Go!’ into megaphones from the sidelines.

Just as he reaches the top, a massive torrent of water gushes down the hill, knocking Shane, Giovanna and Jordan all the way to the bottom into a shallow pool of water.

Will they manage to conquer the Celebrity Cyclone? We’ll just have to wait and see!

When is the I’m A Celebrity 2020 final?

The I’m A Celebrity 2020 final is due to take place on Friday December 4, airing from 9pm on ITV.

This year’s series has been slightly shorter than usual, starting in mid-November and lasting for three weeks.

I’m A Celebrity next airs at 9pm on ITV.
