I’m A Celebrity’s Medic Bob will be missing from this year’s series for the first time in the show’s history, according to new reports.
The beloved doctor, real name Robert McCarron, has been on hand throughout the show’s history in the Australian jungle for the celebs, especially when things go wrong.
From the cockroach that got wedged up Fatima Whitbread’s grim nose cockroach to Gillian McKeith’s ‘fainting’ spell, he’s dealt with it all.
Unfortunately, coronavirus travel restrictions means that there is no way he can make it to North Wales in time for the new, UK-based version of the series.
‘Medic Bob is one of the pillars of I’m A Celebrity but unfortunately it wasn’t going to be a possibility to have him on board this year,’ a source told The Sun.
‘Bob is based in Australia and with the changing restrictions there and in the UK, it became evident he wasn’t going to be able to feature.’
However, they added that his absence will be noted on the show, with a temp medic being brought in for the interim.
They’ll be spending 20 days in a haunted Welsh castle, Castle Gwyrch, which has been renovated to include challenge areas, a campsite, and a bridge.
I’m A Celebrity starts Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
