There’s an Olympic hero heading into the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! camp this weekend, with Matty Lee one of the 12 confirmed stars taking part.
The British diver will be familiar to fans who tuned into the Tokyo games this summer, after bursting onto the scene with a gold medal.
As ever, the ITV show will see Ant and Dec return to host, and Matty can be assured he’ll be taking on the odd Bushtucker Trial or two during his time on the programme.
He’ll be hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year’s champion Giovanna Fletcher, and be named series champion and King of the Castle.
But how old is Matty, and what’s his link to Tom Daley? Here’s everything you need to know.
How old is Matty Lee?
Matty is 23-years-old, and was born in Leeds.
He first competed at the 2015 European Games at the age of 17 before appearing at his first Olympics this summer.
What is Matty Lee’s link to Tom Daley?
Fans will know Matty best as Tom Daley’s diving partner. The pair trained together for months and took gold at the Men’s synchronised 10m platform event.
It was Tom’s third Olympic medal after making his debut appearance at the age of 14, but his first gold.
The friends and teammates have grown very close over time, and celebrated in style with a raucous night out after returning to the UK.
In his introductory video, Matty revealed that he has a phobia of mice which stems from seeing one while staying at Tom’s house – so, you can guarantee he’ll be facing a few of the critters during his time in the jungle.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! starts on Sunday November 21 at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
