Danny DeVito lookalikes in Dublin, assemble.

Filming for the 15th season of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is underway, and it looks like the owners of Paddy’s Irish Pub are tracing their roots back to Ireland.

A call has been put out for doubles of Danny DeVito to shoot this weekend for the long-running sitcom, with filming taking place in Dublin.

A notice on a movie extras site read: ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are coming to Ireland! And we need a Danny DeVito Double. Shooting is this Sunday 29th Aug and the location is Dublin. If you know anyone that could work, please share, this is paid work.’

Another post on Facebook was more specific, asking for a male around 4ft 5, with a 41 inch waist.

It is unclear whether DeVito himself will be in Ireland, as Metro.co.uk understands that previous plans for the whole gang to film in Ireland were put on pause due to ongoing travel restrictions.

The 74-year-old plays Frank Reynolds in It’s Always Sunny, having joined the show in season two as Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Dee’s (Kaitlin Olson) father.

Frank owns 51% of Paddy’s, so perhaps he’s in Ireland to get some tips on how to make the bar more successful.

McElhenney confirmed that season 15 filming is underway, posting a TikTok from Paddy’s Pub holding the first script, titled 2020: A Year In Review.

The camera panned out to show the actor, who plays Mac, wearing full riot gear – sparking rumours that Mac would join the far-right group Proud Boys and storm the Capitol, claiming that the presidential election was rigged.

Last year, it was announced It’s Always Sunny would be renewed for another four seasons, becoming the longest-running live action comedy of all time and breaking the record previously held by ABC’s The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, which ran for 14 seasons.

The show, also starring Charlie Day, follows a gang of selfish and at times abhorrent narcissists on their various adventures around Philadelphia.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is available to stream on Netflix.
