Several contestants on Junior Bake Off rallied together to help one of the bakers finish off her cake at the very last minute.
On the second day of Finals Week, the bakers were set a couple of internationally-themed challenges by judges Liam Charles and Ravneet Gill.
For their first challenge, Rav set them the task of creating a Japanese deco cake, complete with a cherry blossom print on an almond sponge with a cherry-flavoured filling inside.
With five minutes to go until the end of the challenge, Naima, 10, had still not reached the point of taking her cake out of the oven and rolling it around her filling.
Spotting that she was in need of help, a group of the bakers came to her aid.
As presenter Harry Hill announced that there was only one minute to go, competitors including Safiyyah, 14, Zack, 13, and Cece, 14 surrounded Naima, encouraging her as she flipped her bake on its tray and rolled it carefully.
With that extra push from her peers, Naima managed to finish the technical in the nick of time.
‘You’re not going home today,’ one of them said to her.
While she was able to present a finished bake, Liam and Rav placed her cake in last place.
Safiyyah ended up taking the top spot, while Reece, 14, came in second.
Several Junior Bake Off viewers expressed their admiration for the contestants going out of their way to help one of the bakers in the tent.
‘I like them all helping Naima. So wholesome,’ one person tweeted.
‘Safiyyah and Zack springing to Naima’s rescue really does warm my heart,’ another remarked.
Last week, Zack came to the rescue of another baker on Junior Bake Off when Maddi, 14, burst into tears while struggling to whip the cream for her mega choccy stack.
Zack ventured over to her station, consoling her and telling her when to stop whipping the cream so as to avoid it splitting again.
His help ended up giving Maddi the boost she needed, as her bake impressed Liam and Rav so much that she clinched the number one spot in the technical.
Naima found herself in a spot of trouble on Pastry Day, when the pastry for her pumpkin pie didn’t go quite to plan.
After becoming tearful over her bake, she persevered to present a pie that received high praise from the judges.
Junior Bake Off airs weekdays at 5pm on Channel 4.
