Kat Dennings and Andrew W.K. weigh in on Beauty and the Beast comparisons after surprise engagement

Newly-engaged couple Kat Dennings and musician Andrew W.K. appear to have seen those Beauty and the Beast comparisons… and safe to say, they’re big fans.

Earlier this week, Kat, 34, and Andrew, 42, announced that they had become engaged, sharing a loved-up picture of themselves kissing and a close-up of the WandaVision star’s diamond ring on full display.

The news of their engagement came just days after they confirmed their relationship, going Instagram-official with a romantic snap.

When it emerged that Kat and Andrew were going to tie the knot, several fans couldn’t help but notice a resemblance between the rocker and the Prince in The Beauty and The Beast when he returns to human form, with one person tweeting: ‘Is kat dennings literally marrying the beast after he turns into a prince?!’

Andrew, whose real name is Andrew Wilkes-Krier, appears to have picked up on the comparison, sharing a picture on social media of himself and Kat in cartoon form as the Prince and Belle from the 1991 animated Disney classic.

Kat responded by quote-tweeting the picture, writing: ‘As good as it gets.’

This is just getting too adorable.

Several of Kat’s Instagram followers agreed that the resemblance was uncanny when she shared the picture on the social media platform.

‘Literal beauty and the beast,’ one person commented, while another said: ‘Real life Disney princess.’

It’s believed that Kat and Andrew met earlier this year in Los Angeles.

However, it seems as though she’s been a fan of the musician for several years.

In 2014, Kat responded to a picture that Andrew shared of himself on Twitter, writing: ‘You are a tall drink of milk AWK.’

He then responded: ‘Partying is to our soul what is milk is to our bones, Kat!’

Kat recently starred in Marvel series WandaVision as astrophysicist Dr Darcy Lewis, a role she reprised from the first two Thor movies.

Earlier this year, the actor revealed that Marvel sent her a list of things she couldn’t say ahead of WandaVision’s launch, as a measure to avoid spoilers.
