Love Island 2021: New bombshell Priya Gopaldas reveals crush on ‘cuddly bear’ Boris Johnson

Love Island’s Priya Gopaldas has let loose that her celebrity crush is Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The 23-year-old medical student, who worked in the ICU wards during the Covid pandemic, is one of the bombshells set to enter the villa tonight alongside newcomer Aaron Simpson.

‘I have a soft spot for him,’ Priya confessed, as she talked about fancying Boris. ‘It’s the confidence but he is a total sweetheart on the inside and that’s what I like in a boy.

‘He’s the Prime Minister, very driven but then on the inside he’s a cuddly bear. I also love his blonde hair, that does it for me.’

Sadly for Priya, Boris is a married man, after tying the knot with Carrie Symonds earlier this year.

Priya also spoke about how she was forced to abandon her studies and work on the Covid wards.

‘I feel like this year, in particular, has been so intense because of Covid,’ she continued.

‘Our studies were interrupted midway and we were all told if we wanted to we could help out during the pandemic so I was working in ICU for the whole of February.

‘You would come back after every shift exhausted so there definitely wasn’t any time for dating or relationships.’

She added: ‘The NHS has been really tough in the ICU with the long hours, but I find it so rewarding and it’s made me really resilient.

‘Being here is good for me because it’s something absolutely different to my job.’

Besides crushing on the PM, Priya has revealed she’s got her eye on Teddy Soares and Matthew MacNabb.

Will she make it to the final?

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
