Love Island 2021 is getting underway today, with 11 single hopefuls looking to find love in that famous Spanish villa.

As last year’s show was delayed because of coronavirus, there’s a lot of excitement around the new series and of course, in all the hopeful singletons looking for love.

Shannon Singh is among the first 11 contestants who’ll be gracing the villa on Monday night, as the new arrivals prepare to bring us all the drama and romance we’ve come to expect from Love Island.

But who exactly is Shannon Singh?

Who is Shannon Singh from Love Island?

Shannon Singh is a 22-year-old model from Fife.

The multi-talented cast member also creates content on her Instagram account and livestreams games from Twitch.

Her Instagram handle is @shannonsinghhh – which is also the name she goes by on Twitch.

While her Instagram feed is filled with her modelling shots, you can catch her playing Call of Duty on Twitch.

Speaking about her decision to join the show, she said ‘It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. If you’re lucky enough to participate in the show, why would you not?

She also said she’s ‘hopefully [going to] meet an exciting hunk.’

Shannon is keen to stress that it isn’t all about looks, however.

‘I don’t feed off looks, I feed off energy, I need someone with personality. Just someone I can have fun with.’

‘If he’s a handsome hunk but it’s like talking to a brick wall and I’d rather watch paint dry, it’s not going to be great.’

A self-proclaimed ‘party girl’, Shannon said she loves going out and socialising – and she’s already raised eyebrows after claiming on the Who’s Your Daddy podcast that she has sex up to eight times a day.

‘I am very sexually active, I have sex like eight times a day. Not every day but I have a lot of sex,’ she said – although has since explained that the quotes were taken out of context.

‘When I am in love with someone, I do have a lot of sex and I think that’s normal and it’s healthy in a relationship,’ Shannon explained.

‘I don’t want people to take it out of context, that whole podcast is about Asian women being empowered and speaking out about things that typical Asian women don’t speak about.

‘I want to empower women and if I can stop the stereotype of Asian women and not owning who you are, and being afraid to show your body… If I can be an advocate for that then of course I will be.’

Love Island launches Monday 28 June at 9pm on ITV2.
