Martin Clunes red-faced as Phillip Schofield apologises for him swearing 3 times in 10 minutes on This Morning

This Morning’s Phillip Schofield was forced to apologise on today’s show after Martin Clunes swore three times during his interview on the iconic sofa.

The Doc Martin star appeared on the ITV daytime show with Phil and Holly Willoughby talk about the return of his beloved drama Manhunt: Night Stalker with Phil and co-host Holly.

The four-part series is based on the real-life tale of how the police pursued notorious burglar and rapist Delroy Grant, who terrified the residents of southeast London.

Martin accidentally used a number of expletives as he described the offender, whose reign of terror spanned 17 years, with Phil later apologising for his language.

‘We don’t show the crimes in any way, nobody wants to see that, you just see them stop the bastard, really, yeah,’ Martin began as he told fans what they expect to see in the new series.

Later on in the interview, Martin struck again when discussing Sutton.

‘I had a man come up to me in the petrol station come up to me and say, “I used to work for Colin Sutton at Surrey. You and that bloody cardigan, you’re just like him”,’ he said.

‘Colin now swears he’s never worn a cardigan in his life.’

He then added: ‘I don’t really enjoy those t*sser type you know, those generic type on TV. You know where he’s a florist and a cop.’

As Holly started to crack up, Phil interjected: ‘I haven’t apologised for each of the bits of bad language, because obviously, it would take up far too much time.

‘So what I’m going to do is apologise for all three of them in one sort of big apology.’

Viewers were in stitches over the interview and applauded Martin for his appearance.

‘Martin Clunes a funny guy, love his sense of humour,’ wrote one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘What a treat! Martin we love you and miss you on telly.’

Never a dull moment on daytime television, guys. Never!

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
