Ben Watkins, star of MasterChef Junior in the US, has died at the age of 14 after a fight with cancer.
It was revealed in July that Ben was being treated for a rare form of cancer called Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma.
His family confirmed the sad news that he died on Monday.
Appearing on MasterChef Junior in 2017, Ben became a firm fan favourite on the show, hosted by Gordon Ramsey.
While he didn’t win, his love of cooking made him a standout star.
His time on the show was marred however, when his mother and father died in a murder-suicide between the time the show was filmed and aired.
Mike Watkins, Ben’s father, shot and killed Leila Edwards before shooting himself.
His grandmother and uncle became Ben’s legal guardians in the wake of the tragedy.
The form of cancer was so rare that only six people in the world have been diagnosed with it, and his family were asking for help paying his hospital bills as he was treated at Lurie Children’s Hospital, Chicago.
They wrote on the GoFundMe page: ‘Despite all of Ben’s trials and tribulations, he remains positive.
‘He looks forward to getting back in the kitchen and pursuing his dream to become an engineer.’
